2026 Wedding Styles: Find Your Aesthetic

A wedding flat lay of elegant white strapped heels with a dusty pink and white flower bouquet with a warm toned film style edit.

Forget the traditional wedding checklist. Couples in 2026 are choosing wedding styles that feel more like a story, something deeply personal and completely their own. It's no longer just "What do you want your wedding to look like?" it's now "How do you want your wedding to feel?". Whether you are newly engaged and just starting to plan and get ideas or a vendor wanting to know what couples are dreaming about right now, this is your guide. So let's find your aesthetic!

Messy Coquette

This is the top trend I’m seeing right now and don’t let the name fool you because there is nothing accidental about this look! This trend is pulling from period pieces and old world romance. Close your eyes for a moment. Now picture wandering through the streets of ancient Rome or stepping into a museum where every room tells a love story. That is the feeling of a Coquette wedding.

Wedding Details: Lacey invitations in envelopes with wax seals, a color palette of white and green carried through every detail, calligraphy that feels like it came from another century.

Ceremony: White garden chairs with custom fans for guests or chairs with lace draping over, abundant calla lilies, draping greenery and hydrangeas, a stained glass arch or drapery hanging on the arch, tall candlesticks even during the day.

Cocktail Hour: Marble and stone surfaces for the bar and countertops, bar menu labeled on a statement stone, a champagne tower, a wine and charcuterie spread styled like an Italian feast, statuary and greenery as decor with cascading plants or grapes, a live harpist or classical performance that will make your guests feel like they have stepped into a film.

Reception: Long rectangle tables with silk or lace table linens and overlays, centerpieces with taper candles, statuary, and statement florals such as calla lilies as the focal point. White place settings with guest place cards in freshly picked pears or figs with their names written in calligraphy. Intricate piping on a white vintage style cake with multiple tiers to make a statement and framed by fresh pears and cascading grapes and greenery.

At the end of the night when you and your guests head home, it will feel like coming home from a trip, because this wasn't just a wedding venue, it was an experience.

Rooted in Romance

Have you dreamed of being the star in an old Hollywood film? This is the romantic wedding style that lets the newlyweds truly shine. It’s all about moody lighting and color palettes that feel like a walk through a late autumn garden with shades of plum, merlot, fig, and olive. The atmosphere feels rich, romantic and alive without feeling overly polished.

Wedding Details: Deep red colored invitations with moody floral illustrations (maybe even red velvet envelopes if that’s up your alley), wax seals in burgundy or forest green. Bridesmaids dresses in a deep plum tone matching the men's boutonnieres.

Ceremony: An arch draped in layers of silk and cascading greenery with garden roses, fresh figs and deep toned florals. The ceremony space has dark wood or wrought iron details, tapered candlelight, with earthy and organic textures. You’ll walk down that aisle, soaking in each and every beautiful detail around you. This is the kind of ceremony that makes guests hold their breath.

Cocktail Hour: A moody, speakeasy-esque vibe with a warm and intimate atmosphere. Picture  wood and stone surfaces with dim candlelit lighting and table-top lamps. Cocktails with cherries and perhaps a wine and cheese spread garnished with grapes.

Reception: Long tables with deep velvet accents, taper candles, centerpieces abundant with seasonal blooms and moss, fruits and greenery. A sweetheart table for the newlyweds in front of a projector showing sweet memories on hanging linens. Have a multi tiered white cake on a silk red linen (or try the trending tiramisu heart-shaped cake!).

Then end the night in style with a grand send-off, guests can throw rose petals and you’ll exit in a limo or vintage car, decorated with dark red silky ribbons. You’ll sit back and both look at each other feeling like the stars in your own movie.

Ethereal Shimmer

On the other end of the spectrum, Ethereal weddings are having a major moment right now in 2026 and it is easy to see why. Imagine walking into a space where the light does all the talking. All around you everything feels dreamy while the space glows, shimmers and catches your eye.

Wedding Details: Invitations on semi-translucent paper with an opalescent envelope liner and wax seal, menus and name cards on reflective paper or vinyl on mirrors, iridescent, white and blue colors with pearl details carried through every element of the day.

Ceremony: Lucite or ghost chairs that let the light move through the space, white florals, a ceremony arch with draping silk fabrics, cascading orchid bouquets with pearl embellishments and soft diffused lighting that creates a glow.

Cocktail Hour: A bar cart or surface with chrome and mirror finishes, a champagne tower with iridescent flutes, translucent bubble balloons, pearl cocktail garnishes, signature cocktails listed on a mirror, florals with pearlescent accents throughout the space.

Reception: Mirrors as charger plates, centerpieces using white florals, glass and pearls decor. Wedding cake with a mirror glaze finish, soft diffused lighting on the dance floor.

Ethereal weddings photograph beautifully, but the real magic is being at one. It is the kind of setting that feels otherworldly.
